@jeff_sono is excited to have you with us for your rotation. We are dedicated to your education. All we ask is that you be prompt, do the required coursework, scan a lot and have a positive attitude.
Rotation Goals
By the end of the rotation:
Become comfortable with the basic knobology
Complete and log at least 150 ultrasound studies during your intern rotation
Minimum of 10 technically adequate and accurate scans in each category: Aorta, Biliary, Cardiac, DVT, EFAST, IVC, Lung, Renal, Soft tissue, OB TransAbdominal, Peripheral IV. Please review the minimal imaging critera for each modality to ensure you get credit for all your scans!

Weekly Video Review
We meet in 300 College or Zoom every Monday at 10AM unless otherwise told. At this time we will be doing a combination of introduction, video review, simulation, research meetings, and journal club.
Each Monday we will be reviewing journal articles. You will receive these through email the prior Thursday. Review these articles in advance so that you are prepared to join in the discussion. You will be leading the discussion on one of the journal articles during the second and third Monday video review session. See below for guide to critically reviewing journal articles.

If scanning with an attending or fellow please meet on the B side of the Jefferson ED
Know which specific application on which to focus for each assigned session
Residents Only: SDOTs must be completed for each of the 8 core ultrasound modalities in New Innovations

Journal Club
Each Monday we will review journal articles. You will receive these through email the week before. Please prepare to lead and to join in the discussion. You will lead the discussion on one of the journal articles during the second and third Monday video review session.
Resident Graduation Requirements
Complete 300 technically accurate and adequate scans
Complete 25 scans in each the following: Aorta, Biliary, Cardiac, DVT, EFAST, IVC, Lung, Renal, Soft tissue, OB TransAbdominal, Peripheral IV
Adequately scan throughout your resident career. This includes on average 25 scans per quarter and 100 scans per year.
Have at least one SDOT completed in each scan type
